Artist: Arnaud Le Texier

Release name: Bullet E.P.

Cat Number: BDR043

Remixer: Mark Reeve

Release Date: 13/02/12

Bulletdodge proudly welcome Arnaud Le Texier back to the label for BDR043, this time with an excellent EP, named “Bullet EP”. The EP consists of three strong original tracks and a suberb remix from Mark Reeve.

Theres a distinguishing detroit feel prevalent throughout the E.P. and this is certainly apparent in the first track, “Mighty Chord”. Mighty Chord is a storming deep tech monster, built from rattling, dubby stabs, soft pads and a pulsing bass.

Contributing a stunning interpretation, visionary producer, Mark Reeve secures much of the originals energy and manages to add a substantial amount of groove based tech-house flavour.

Next we have “Yepa”, an opening outburst of astounding rhythms and fx gives way to a Detroit influenced arpeggio that leads into a fittingly performed breakdown.

Closing track,”Untitled Bullet”, strides further into deep techno territory with a subtle bassline and clipped drum machines. A very nicely arranged piece, the track grooves and swings its way to a thoughtful breakdown before winding down with a DJ-friendly outro.

Raveline Review

Raveline Magazine Germany (Techno) – Auf Bulletdodge
zirpenden Sounds daher plonkt. Gediegene Musik für chillige
Sets.4/6

PSYCATRON (PAUL)

Nice work. Like the original and Brendon’s mix the most, but they all do their thing nicely.

PIG & DAN (IGOR)

Another solid release from the Bulletdodge boys, very twisted dub and acid infused grooves.

Jesus Pablo

’15 Miles To Moscow (Brendon Moeller Dub) / Legat-der-Dunkelheit (Original Mix)’ for me… deep moody house music… dark rooms and flashing lights… see you on the dancefloor…

Ralf

Thank you so much…I love the Brandon moeller rmx…

Al Bradley

The originals are all all excellent examples of forward-thinking deep house; the pick of them for me is Borderdub Syndrome. The one for me on the release overall is Brendan Moeller’s remix of ’15 Miles….’ which is spot-on for my deeper sets & definitely something I’ll get loads of use from; he’s a man after my own heart in terms of deepness! Top stuff again from Bullet Dodge.

Rob Small
Fantastic EP on the whole. Really classy sounding that evidently isn’t following any fads.
My picks of the bunch are Brendon’s remix of ’15 Miles To Moscow’, and the original of ‘Borderdub Syndrome’. Both really cool tracks.

Roel Salemink

Nice EP with great sounds!!
Dominic Cappello (SubCulture, Sub Club)
thanks these sound great …

Conor Dalton
Comments: Yeah this is very much my cup of tea… radio and club support are a given. Big fan of Mr Moeller, love his Steadfast label and all that. Cracking stuff. Not heard of Springer himself before. It’s quite maximal dub, sounds like it’ll work nicely on a big rig – really feeling track 4 with its acid flourishes.

DATATRANSMISSIONS REVIEW
And you though 24 Hours from Tulsa was a trek…deep house glanced by moonlight across five damp and wearing tracks
15 Miles to Moscow feels like a thousand on foot when Matthias Springer’s dimly lit deep techno delve orders you to hit the road. There is a switch in bass about half way through to have you upping your march, underhandedly funky all the way through, but only approach if your shoes are securely fastened, as the standard has been set for the rest of the release. Brendan Moeller’s mix feels like the sun is beating down harder to the point where it’s just over your shoulder, mistaking water for mirages of bloopy chords on a pretty uneventful (or drowsily focused, depending on your energy levels) NYC toil, swinging a super-sized pendulum from side to side.
Springer’s time-taking immersion of Borderdub Syndrome and the whirlpools of Legat-der-Dunkelheit, some acid fidgeting and bigger drums included, are only lighter if examined by microscope, maybe even meditative as synths curl, twist and echo their stammers from afar to make up the weight of both. Retaining a pressing heat, Springer remains a spinner definitely for those preferring high altitude marathons to sub 10 second sprints, the kind of Duracell bunny occupying dancefloors from doors opening to kicking out time.
Your ears may start to feel as heavy as your eyelids to the point where the headphones slide right off. Displaced Acid is, as the title suggests, slightly out of place when it comes to its 303 intake, added to a few more monsters moaning and droning and generally a greater injection of life about it, though that doesn’t mean the lead weights in its boots have been downsized.

Another formidable release here; each track is excellent but the two picks for me are the Hypertic remix of “Wagon” which is wickedly deep & techy, plus the original of “Hyde” which is an absolute tech cracker.
